Well... maybe just some good "sword and shield" movies. I've got:

Troy
Alexander
Gladiator
Kingdom of Heaven
300

Any others?

Also, why does lol! have a Goku haircut?

Haven't seen that in a while. All I remember from that movie is Tom Cruise yelling "SAKE!"

Just got done watching a documentary on Julius Caesar vs. The Gauls. I wonder how many of the fact were skewed by Caesar kekeke.

The pre-Gladiator Roman movies were dominated by

Cleopatra
Ben Hur
The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire
Spartacus

They were seen as the big budget "sword and sandal" epics that sold box office money in the 50's and 60's. Roman era stuff disappeared until the 80's, when it came back in a few mini-series (The Last Days of Pompeii, etc.) and then Gladiator came along, and they were popular all over again. Smile

I suppose I should watch Ben Hur. Maybe I'll appreciate the Pod Race scene in Episode 1 more.

All of the above are worth at least one watch, but I am a bit biased in my viewpoints....lol Ben Hur usually plays around Easter b/c of the Christ sub plot. However, you loose so much if you don't watch them in widescreen, as they were intended.
